Integration of Natural Scenery into Space

This project is located in Tamsui, featuring a spacious apartment with stunning river views. During the first visit, we noticed the mountains, river, and soft, swaying grass along the riverbank seen through the windows.

These natural elements inspired the concept of “living within a painting with the earth as the backdrop.” Neutral beige and light coffee tones were used to create a simple “frame” that highlights the scenery outside, blending the interior with the natural surroundings.

Space Layout Adjustments

To improve functionality, we reconfigured the layout. The original en suite bathroom in the master bedroom was divided into two separate bathrooms—one for the master bedroom and one for the daughter’s room. The guest bathroom was also expanded to enhance convenience and comfort. The kitchen was designed as an open space allowing the kitchen to enjoy the same beautiful views outside the window, enhancing the overall living experience.

Practical and Minimal Design Approach

Focusing on practicality, we reduced built-in cabinetry and used ready-made furniture provided by the owners. To define the spacious interior, arched ceilings were added at key transitions: one at the entrance and another in the hallway connecting the living, dining, and kitchen (LDK) area to the bedrooms. These elements add depth and flow, creating a harmonious and functional space.
