Located in the scenic Yilan Plain, the homeowner had a vision: to practice yoga on the rooftop while enjoying views of the lush rice fields below and Turtle Island in the distance. Inspired by this serene setting, we designed a building that feels like a natural extension of the landscape. Our concept gently lifts a slice of the earth, merging the roof seamlessly with the green surroundings. This design gives the impression that the building is softly emerging from beneath the soil, like a gentle creature awakening.

The rooftop isn’t just a structural element; it’s a perfect spot for outdoor activities, offering a peaceful retreat above the fields. Constructed from concrete, the building features several openings that not only bring in ample natural light but also create a sense of openness and brightness throughout the indoor spaces.

This project began its design and planning phase in 2022 and is currently under construction.
